"Prêt à Voter in practice: an instructive account of our efforts to put end to end verifiability into practice for State election"
End-to-end verifiable cryptographic voting schemes have been amusing cryptographers for years, but are just beginning to be efficient enough for practice. A joint project between the Victorian Electoral Commission and the Universities of Surrey, Luxembourg and Melbourne is bringing e2e verifiability to the 2014 Victorian state election.

Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft(DFG) is awarding the Heinz Maier Leibnitz Prize 2014 to Professor Dr. Eric Bodden (33). DFG is honoring the computer scientist’s exceptional scientific achievements in the secure software development field.
Dr. Haya Shulman, PostDoc at EC-SPRIDE (European Center for Security and Privacy by Design) of TU Darmstadt has won first prize at the Research Award of Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. The award includes prize money of 80,000 Israeli New Shekels, i.e. more than 15,000 Euro.
