Prof. Dr. Michael Waidner is Director of CASED and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute SIT in Darmstadt. He is also professor at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and heads the research group "Security in Information Technology" of the Computer Science department. Since October, 2011, he leads the competency center for IT security "European Center for Security and Privacy by Design - EC SPRIDE " at TU Darmstadt.

Prof. Dr. Johannes Buchmann is Vice Director of CASED and head of the cryptography and computeralgebra research group in the computer science department of the Technical University of Darmstadt.

As an expert in cryptography research, he received numerous awards, e. g., the Leibniz Prize by the German Research Foundation and the German IT Security Prize 2008. He is a Fellow of the German Academy of Science and Engineering acatech, member of National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and other scientific academies.
