LOEWE – Scientific and Economic Excellence in Hesse
In 2008 thanks to the Landes-Offensive zur Entwicklung Wissenschaftlich-ökonomischer Exzellenz (LOEWE) CASED as one of five centers of the LOEWE initiative was established.
LOEWE is an initiative for supporting the development of scientific and economic excellence in Hesse.
This research funding program differs from other promoting initiatives not only with regards to its quantity but also in respect to its various topics, competitve and long-term objectives.
The government of Hesse provides initial funding which in turn is meant to allow universities and other institutions in Hesse to specialize and thus to further shape their scientific profile. Furthermore, this initiative supports a stronger interconnection between science, non-university research and business.
Another aim is (in cooperation with big research organizations) to establish a basis for new research institutions within Hesse which will be funded jointly by the German government and the states (Länder).
