LOEWE- an initiative for supporting the development of scientific and
economic excellence in Hesse
The government of Hesse chose CASED as competence center for IT security
research and development. Thus, since CASED was founded in 2008 the
government has provided funding to the organizations involved: the TU
Darmstadt, the Fraunhofer SIT and the Hochschule Darmstadt.
EC SPRIDE - European Center for Security and Privacy by Design
The European Center for Security and Privacy by Design (EC SPRIDE) will supplement the existing IT security research in Darmstadt with its outstanding fundamental research, thereby helping to round off the research profile in Darmstadt. In addition to this fundamental research, the Center will also significantly influence the practical activities.
BMBF-Spitzencluster:
Software-ClusterIn January 2010, the Federal Ministry for
Education and Research chose the Software Cluster to be one of ten German
"Spitzencluster” (top cluster). In its capacitiy as IT security research
and development specialist CASED is part of a cluster involving four
universties, five universities of applied sciences, nine other research
organizations and more than 350 companies.
European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT): KIC ICT
Labs
The EIT KIC ICT Labs won the European Excellence Initiative with CASED as
affiliate partner. “KIC” stands for “knowledge and innovation
community” and “ICT” for "information and communication
technology”. The newly founded European Institute of Innovation &
Technology intends to provide new groundbreaking solutions in order to fill
current innovative gaps in Europe. The Institute chose CASED with its high
competency in IT security for the areas of innovation, education and
research. As affiliate partner of ICT Labs CASED will be cooperating
closely with T-Labs.
House of IT
The House of IT was founded as a science-oriented hub to develop and strengthen the ICT industry in the Rhine-Main region. Partners in the business and scientific communities have joined forces with the state government of Hesse to launch the project.
The House of IT is a place to meet, exchange ideas, and collaborate. It cooperates with existing ICT initiatives and potential in the region, including top projects like the "Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt" (CASED) and the office of the software cluster "Software Innovation for the Digital Enterprise".
