CASED - Excellence in Hesse, Germany and Europe

LOEWE - LOEWE- an initiative for supporting the development of scientific and economic excellence in Hesse
The government of Hesse chose CASED as competence center for IT security research and development. Thus, since CASED was founded in 2008 the government has provided funding to the organizations involved: the TU Darmstadt, the Fraunhofer SIT and the Hochschule Darmstadt.
BMBF-Spitzencluster: Software-ClusterIn January 2010, the Federal Ministry for Education and Research chose the Software Cluster to be one of ten German "Spitzencluster” (top cluster). In its capacitiy as IT security research and development specialist CASED is part of a cluster involving four universties, five universities of applied sciences, nine other research organizations and more than 350 companies.
European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT): KIC ICT Labs
The EIT KIC ICT Labs won the European Excellence Initiative with CASED as affiliate partner. “KIC” stands for “knowledge and innovation community” and “ICT” for "information and communication technology”. The newly founded European Institute of Innovation & Technology intends to provide new groundbreaking solutions in order to fill current innovative gaps in Europe. The Institute chose CASED with its high competency in IT security for the areas of innovation, education and research. As affiliate partner of ICT Labs CASED will be cooperating closely with T-Labs.
