New Master’s Program in “IT Security” at the TU Darmstadt
Invitation to an informational event on May 4, 2010
Persons interested in the new Master’s Degree in IT Security at the TU Darmstadt can obtain further information during an informational event on May 4, 2010. The demand for qualified IT security specialists is great, as the IT security sector continues to grow, even during periods of economic crisis. Applications for the winter semester can be submitted from May 1. to July 15.
The master’s degree course, which will be starting in the summer semester, will turn students into highly-qualified experts in the area of IT security in just four semesters and focus on three core informatics areas: system security, cryptography and software security. The prospective MSc’s can supplement the lectures from these areas with other courses provided by the faculty, if they wish. During the course they will also be able to gain initial practical experience through accompanying seminars and placements.
Furthermore, a wide range of research topics is available for the master’s theses, so both theory-oriented learners and practitioners will be able to find an appropriate subject. During the degree course, students will also benefit from the great conditions for studying at the TU Darmstadt. Seminar and placement places are available without having to wait.
The new master’s degree makes it easier to combine lectures in a flexible manner: due to the focus of the degree course, students will be able to attend more IT security seminars, which are being held by recognized experts from more than 20 specialist areas.
The LOEWE Research Center at CASED also enables students to participate in current research projects from an early stage. The master’s degree is therefore the perfect platform for preparing for a doctoral thesis. But that’s not all, as the students of this course will also be well equipped for careers in the private business sector. The TU Darmstadt has an outstanding network of contacts, which includes companies within the region as well as further a field.
Please note: Currently, most of the courses are held in german.
